Bathroom Reveal

We finally have the bathroom put back together!  We had some friends helping us through the tiling process and we wouldn't have been able to do it without them!

So, here is the before...

And here is the after...

Thursday we cleared out the room and put down cement board over the linoleum.

We decided to keep the toilet in the tub instead of toting it through the house.

Friday evening we set and cut the tiles.  We decided on a diamond pattern to make the bathroom feel a little bit larger.  By the time we got all this done, it was 10:30.  Our friends' 3 oldest kids had already fallen asleep and the two little ones (Sarah and Sara) were both coming down off their last wind and headed for meltdowns.  We decided it would be best to finish the next day.

We weren't able to start up again until later that next evening...which meant we weren't able to grout until later the next day...which meant we we couldn't start putting things back in until later the day after that.  I think you would understand that we were not exactly thrilled when we put the toilet back in and it leaked.  Turns out we needed another part to adjust the toilet to the new height of the floor.  The next evening hubby discovered that he also needed some different screws.  Soooo, Wednesday we finally got the toilet in and the rest came slowly over the course of the next few days.  By Saturday, we had everything back in and Sunday got everything cleaned up and ready to use.

In this whole process we changed out the lighting fixture and the faucet.
(Please ignore the needed paint job behind the new light.  That's another story.)

We also painted both cabinets and added bead board and new hardware.

We still have some little projects left to complete.  We need to finish the trim around the floor, the covering strip over the carpet by the doors, patching some holes, and touch up painting on the walls.  I had hoped to have all of this done by now, but that is just the way it goes sometimes.  :-)

For now, the kids can enjoy their new bright and more beachy like bathroom!

Living thru faith,
Misty
