Houston, We Have a Problem...

Ok, I hate to admit it, but for once Matt is right.
We really don't have any food in the house.

I guess I better get to the grocery store since this is the last day of school and then they will be home grazing all.day.long.

On a positive note, it was easy to wipe down the shelves! :-)

Allergy Testing

Two Christmases ago we discovered that Sarah was allergic to tree nuts.  Monday she had her followup testing and, yep, she's still allergic.

This was actually about an hour or so after they gave her medicine.  The hives were even bigger.  Number 29 is walnuts, 53 is hazelnuts, and 50 is pecans.  The walnut one was wiped off almost immediately and was still as big as the pecans.

After I took the picture of her back, she wanted me to take a picture of the castle she had created.  :-)

You can see her special treat sitting there, too...Chocolate milk!  She only gets it every once in a blue moon and I figured getting your back pricked involuntarily was a good reason.  She was sooo excited!

They gave her benedryl before we left the office and she ended up sleeping for about 2 hours!

Checking In

Ok, I know I've been away from blog land for a week now, but I've truly been busy!!  Last week was the last week of regular season baseball, I did some extra babysitting for a friend, I attended a dinner at work with Brian, AND we started reorganizing our master closet.   The master closet project has been HUGE and we didn't tear anything out or build anything in.  I'm still working on clearing out some of the mess.

I haven't had time to upload any pictures and probably won't for another couple of days.  I have so much to share with you, so please be patient with me!  Monday will be the first game of district playoffs (weather permitting) and it is the last week of school. Hopefully, I will be caught up by Wednesday or Thursday.

Until then...

Momentary Interruption

We interrupt this regularly scheduled life for

baseball season...which never ends in May...

I know I haven't been on here consistently and I just wanted you all to know that it isn't because I'm not thinking of you!

As most of you know baseball is in full swing and it is not scheduled to end until almost August!  We will finish the regular season (with hopefully a trip to State) and then it is straight into summer ball.

So, if you don't see me I'm probably at the ballpark...

Just Call Me Grace

I am notorious for doing stupid things to myself,
but this week hasn't all been my fault!

Ok, so it started out my fault...

Thursday I burned a spot on my arm on a skillet.  I was running late (as usual) trying to get supper ready before I left to work concessions at the baseball game. One thing led to another and my arm touched the skillet.

Friday night I was abruptly woken up with excruciating pain in my ankle.  Undoubtedly, Brian was dreaming that he was being attacked and his arms were all tied up and the only way to fight was by kicking.  It apparently was a pretty vivid dream because he kicked me right on the ankle bone.  It is still a little tender to the touch.

Over the weekend...

children stepped on my feet numerous times

I hit my knee on something, but I don't remember what (this is not an uncommon occurrence, by the way - the not remembering how I hurt myself)

I scraped the top of my toes on the door as I was walking into the garage.

Sarah hit me in the forehead with the front door in her rush to shut it.  When I say that I mean the top center of my forehead with the side of the door because I was leaning out to tell the kids to have a good time at the movie.

And last night I discovered that I either suddenly developed an allergy to bandaids or left it on too long because I started breaking out where the bandaid was around the burn spot.  I needed a bandaid over the burn spot because it blistered up, then opened up and started looking infected.

As I said, just call me "Grace"...

Daniel Turns 13!

Yesterday my baby turned 13!

Daniel and a few friends went to see the new Avengers movie and
then came back home for dinner.

They had a great time beating Daniel with balloons in honor of his birthday.

They played on the XBox.

They played some football.

Sarah even had a special seat to watch the boys.

Daniel wanted a simple cake, but we added some sparkler candles to it.
He kept having to blow them out!  It was rather comical!

Now we have 2 teenagers in the house.  Heaven help us!
