I will be away from the computer for a few days celebrating July 4th with family. It's so easy to consider this just a long weekend, a paid vacation day, a time to get away. But let us not forget those who serve our country and the families who serve along with them. We pray for safety, for comfort, and for peace.
And let us also not forget the One who made the ultimate sacrifice for each of us, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He willing gave Himself up to die a painful and humiliating death on a cross so that each one of us could live forever with the One who created us. As Americans we live free...free to do and go and be, but without Christ we can never truly be free. When we give our lives over to Christ, there is a freedom and a joy and a peace that is beyond our understanding.
"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
